ABOUT KARAIKAL ASHRAM

Karaikal was one of the town, which was very badly afected by 2004 Tsunami. Shiri Saradha Sakthi Peetam not only provided immediate relief to the Tsunami victims at Kairaikal but also collected and housed (rented house) nearly 60children who became orphan, semi-orphan and destitude due to the Tsunami.

In 2006 one of our major donors Dr.Kris Yogam from U.S.A donated a piece of land and funded for construction of a permanent residence for the 60 children. Today this has grown into a two storied beautiful ashram which includes a library, computer centre and enough space to have vaccational training centre for the destitute children and housewives. This ashram is also managed by the funds received mainly from Chennai centre.

ACTIVITIES

Every morning prayers done by our Students, with Devotional songs. On some important occasions and during festival seasons our students sing bhajans. We also observe special prayers on the birthday of eminent scholars and leaders.During prayer times students used to wear white dhotis and white shirts compulsorily. The prayers were done by the students under the guidance of a Swamiji. The daily prayer time will be between 5.30am and 6.00 am to 6.00am in the morning and 6.00pm to 6.30pm in the evening. During prayer, we used to remember our donors in our prayers and seek the Almighty for their blessings.

Many donors come forward and contribute their donation with much pleasure when they start a new business,their 50th Birth day, Marriage Day, Death anniversary and when they have received their appointment orders etc. We used to pray for the welfare of the donor's family when they come forward to contribute for a Full day feeding for our students. After prayer time the study hour for our students will be between 6.45 and 8am when they will be under the supervision and Guidance of our Gurukulam teachers.

At 8 'o' Clock Students are given Break fast. Some times on occation of the birthday occasion of the donor he/she may serve to our students. Generally the feeding starts with a prayer. The Tiffin items may be like Pongal, Kesari, Vadai, Sambar, etc. After breakfast children go to school. For the welfare and convenience of our ashram students we are running a small high school 6th to 10th Std.Our School is purely based on the State Board syllabus. The primary class students from 1st Standard to 5th Standard are sent to a nearby Government Elementary School.We have well-qualified and service minded staffs to teach for our Students. Our School starts at 9.20am with Morning Prayer and closes by 4.10pm with National Anthem.Good quality Lunch is provided by us to our students during the Lunch sessions between 12.30 to 2.00pm.

DAILY ACTIVITIES

Our students perform their duties daily without any hindrance. The regular duties are alloted to our students according to their age. For the mental relaxation of our students they are permitted to go to the playground. The playing time is from 4.30 to 5.30pm.

g)        And from 02.00 to 05.00 p.m The history of Bhagavan Shiri Ramakrishna, Shiri Saradha Devi, Swamy Vivekananda is shown in T.V for their spiritual development.

We also make our students to watch the sports events telecasted in T.V. The evening prayer is held between 6 and 6.30 a.m. Under the direction of a Swamiji. The meditation and the yoga Classes are conducted for the students on Sunday's between 7.30 to 8.15 pm. Even the teachers participate in this meditation programme.Finally between 8.15 and 9.30 there will be a prayer before night meal.We also take much care of each and every student's health. If any student falls sick, we immediately take him to the doctor for treatment.

When there is no sponsor for feeding we meet the expenses by Ourselves. Another important feature of our organization we admit Orphans,Semi-Orphans and economically weaker children irrespective of caste, creed and religion. our Organization is purely run by the Management of Trustees and the Board of Directors of Shiri Saradha Sakthi Peetam.

Besides all these, we are also doing social services like free eye camp, free operation for the sick and poor those who are lacking eyesight. The person who has under gone operation, we supply them the optical freely. We have lot of plans to state and will be esteemed when we are able to meet the full expenditure. We therefore request all donors to support us in carrying to meet many social services to the public.

We take care of our students till they complete their education and assure job opportunities for their future.

Our students also participate in many programmes, like Tamil Elakkia Peravai, Nava Bharatham welfare trust & Sports. Our students have also participated in many competitions like quiz, essay, oration, drawing etc.

EDUCATION

We are running a small high school from 6th to 10th Std. A Hostel is attached with our school. We have well-qualified and service minded staffs to teach for our students. We give our best education which could meet the standards of other schools across the society. Our aim is that in no way or manner our students should be differentiated form other students and children of our society.
Our aim is now to improve the standards of education of these students along with better infrastructure.
We also wish to extend these school level upto 12th standard so that our children can completely do their schooling here itself.

DONATE FOR A GOOD CAUSE

Shiri Saradha Sakthi Peetam, Chennai started in 1988 is doing Spiritual, Rural Educational and Orphanage service to the poor and downtrodden people. this institution is run on donations from philanthropists.

It has been decided to create a Corpus Fund of Rs.200 Lakhs for the maintenance and for running the orphanage for 200 children without any financial constraints. As such we approach every one to donate liberally for the noble cause and seek the blessings of the Lord.

On behalf of our Shiri Saradha Sakthi Peetam, "Sri Ramakrishna Seva Gurukulam" has been functioning for the past fourteen years in which poor destitute students are residing and getting good education.

The children here, follow a daily routine of regular prayer, congregational prayer, Baghawad Gita Chanting and physical exercise etc. They are provided with free food, clothing and shelter. They are also taught the high ideals of Baghawan Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Saradha Devi and Swami Vivekananda, to enable them to become noble citizens.

The entire expenditure of the Gurukulam is met from donations of philanthropists. We request you to donate liberally to the noble cause.

On receipt of intimation from the concerned individual and he/she can join with their family members along with our students and share their happiness on that particular day.We arrange for special feast on the following occassions such as Marriage Day, Birth Day, Birth Day of children, Factory / Business commencement Day, Festival occasions like Deepavali, Pongal, Christmas, ramzan, etc.
